All guests wearing costumes (including children) will be eligible to win prizes listed below in the costume contest.

Prizes will be awarded after the ceremony.   However, most of the prizes will be decorations used for the event and are rather large, so the winners will have to wait until after the wedding to take them home.

PRIZE:   Obi Wan Light Saber prop.    This light saber hilt was crafted out of aircraft aluminum and looks and feels just like the one used by  young Obi Wan in The Phantom Menace..    Similar saber props have sold for over $200 on Ebay.

(approximate value:  $150+)

PRIZE:   Life size 3-D cardboard Droideka (shown on left).   One Droideka will be given for the best Droid or Bounty Hunter costume.   This Droideka was a promotional item used by book stores and toy stores to promote Star Wars products after the release of Episode 1.  It stands approximately 5 feet tall and is sure to scare away any intruders!   I purchased this droideka and assembled it myself, so it is just about in mint condition - it will only be used once (at the wedding), and since they are no longer available for purchase, this is likely to become a hot collector's item.  So, if you have no room for a 5ft. Droideka in your house, you can always put it up for auction on Ebay!!

(approximate value:  $100+)

PRIZES:   Life size 3-D cardboard Battle Droids (shown on left).   One Battle Droid will be given to the "Best Alien" and one will be given to the "Most Creative" costume.    The Most Creative costume will include any costumes not covered in the other 3 major categories and will also encompass any creative use of materials and props.   Like the Droideka, these Battle Droids were a promotional item used by book stores and toy stores to promote Star Wars products after the release of Episode 1.  It stands over 6 feet tall on it's base!   The Battle Droids are also in near mint condition and will only be used once (at the wedding).   Since they are no longer available for purchase, this is also likely to become a hot collector's item.     If you are not sure about keeping a life size droid in your house, remember that there are many people out there on E-bay and other auction sites, that will pay good money to take it off your hands!!

(approximate value:  $80+)
