January 24th, 2002 - Six consecutive studs in master bathroom which have been bored more than 50% for water pipes. The private inspector says this is against windstorm code, and that the stud shoes do not offer enough structural support. The builder says the the stud shoes were designed for this purpose and that they are strong enough for this purpose. The city inspector also seemed ok with it as is. I am still trying to get a fourth opinion from a windstorm engineer before they drywall.
